After building the swamp planet from The Empire Strikes Back, with all its grit and grime and swampy goodness, I decided to do something dramatically different. Taking my red Tremclad paint in hand, I embarked on this bizarre model: The Funpfdecker Fokker.
First, a word about the instructions, which were written in a unique form of Germanglish – think Hogan’s Heroes. Instructions mixing German and English made for an interesting read.

The large wing & body decals were a challenge, but I overcame!

Note that, unlike a bi-plane with 2 wings, this is a 5-plane.

The chromed engine turned out well – really pops against that red!

A close-up of the pilot (his head was in 2 pieces for some reason?!)

So. Many. Coats. Of. Paint. But the end result was totally worth all the time it took to cure!

Notice the detail on the tire – looks like it’s wrapped in a bandage to keep it working.

Close-up of the propellor and that sexy chrome paint. I admit it’s one of my favourites.

Behind the engine, the pilot, with his gold tasseled epaulets on full display. Go Fritz!
