Review:

Now that was a proper biography! Factual, incisive, not sparing the negative aspects of an extraordinary life, but not dwelling or even really digging into the lurid details.

Bob Hope continues to fascinate me, and I knew from before I started my reading and collecting that there is always a skull beneath the skin, a curtain pulled back to reveal something less than appealing.

But, like the saying goes: that’s showbiz. You can’t make an omelet without cracking a few eggs.

Hope made it to the top, stayed there, and died at the full century mark, and there will (thankfully perhaps) never be another like him.

This book made me want to: watch footage of the USO tours
